Lindsay Holt Secher has stepped up to be our Social Coordinator and has enlisted the assistance of Deb Caton to Co-Chair this role with her.  Both women are ESP Assistants at the Mattacheese Middle School.

Be on the lookout for some fun future activities (posted here, of course!) coming to our association soon.  If you have ideas or suggestions they might consider, please let them know.  Welcome to both of these energetic women!

First, thank you for taking on the role of Social Comm. reps. Don’t think we need “tons” of events but one or two during the year provide a good way for all of us to socialize. We’ve been moved from building to building throughout the years and often times don’t get a chance to catch up.
As far as your questions go, I’m in favor of bowling, casual get together at the beach BYOB. You may know we had an end of year gathering at West Dennis beach and for those of us who attended, we had a good time.

        I agree with you, Deb.
The BYOB and bring food to share at the beach gathering was nice! low-key, inexpensive and fun.

        I’m up for anything!

    Hi Deb and Lindz,
How about a cook out at Grays Beach! Everyone could bring a side, app or dessert. We could get a local store to donate burgers and dogs. We could have picinic games too! Just throwing in out there! ☀️??

      I like this idea, too!!
Does it cost money to use Bass Hole? Do we have to ask Pat Armstrong? I think we tossed this idea around before and questioned how to use the pavilion.

        Hi Judy
It’s $85 per day for non-profit groups and we could only rent it on a week night since the weekends are booked already. Bathrooms are available until dusk and lock automatically. Ruth Nee works for Pat now and she is checking to see if Pat will give us any more of a break for using it since we’re part of the town. A Thursday might work since it’s almost the weekend…

        Hi Everyone

The Town of Yarmouth is offering to let us use the Bass Hole/Gray’s Beach FOR FREE for a gathering during the week (weekends are already booked). We need to let them know real soon if this is a location we would like to take advantage of (I know it’s one of two, at least)

I agree with Deb that you don’t need to go crazy. Three or four organized events in the course of the school year seems like plenty. I love the Gray’s Beach idea too but Corporation Beach is a lovely setting as well.and very popular.

Cape Cod Beer sponsors and/or hosts lots of activities for groups on Cape. Corn Hole, Paint Nites, etc. Could also combine with fund raising committee to plan something.
